Emergency Dissolve

Filler does come with some risk so for a little piece of mind emergency dissolving is something we offer. We do offer elective dissolving if your filler has generally migrated or you just want to go a little smaller.

For the emergency dissolve in an event of any emergency hyaluronidase is injected directly into the area where the filler is that needs to be dissolved. The treatment can sting, therefore generally lidocaine is injected to reduce discomfort. Hyaluronidase works very quickly, and filler is broken down almost immediately but can take up to 24 hours for the full effect.

The filler will start to break down and soften immediately, although depending on the location and how much needs to be dissolved, it may take up to two weeks for it to completely dissolve and settle back to natural.

Like with any injectables, dissolving lip fillers can cause discomfort, but generally speaking, it shouldn't be painful. It can sting a little bit but it's not excessively painful. I always use a topical anesthetic cream to reduce the discomfort for the patients.

This is why aftercare is very important and you should be educated on what to look out for during your consultation, we do not have a conveyor belt system at Qpid Aesthetics we have an appointment slot that runs an hour long and longer if needed so we can explain risks and what you as a client should look out for with your lips, or any area that’s been filled going through the healing process.
