What is Microneedling?
Microneedling is a minimally invasive procedure for your skin, we use thin needles to make tiny holes in the top layer of the skin to produce the healing process. So it produces more collagen and elastin.
These proteins keep your skin firm and smooth. Helping with fine lines wrinkles and pores.
Microneedling helps with many skin problems including stretch marks, acne scaring, pothole scaring, wrinkles, pores, and much more.
Most people will opt for Microneedling on their face but you can also have this procedure on your, neck backhands chest, stomach, legs, and other areas of the body.
You will probably need multiple treatments to achieve desired results. Microneedling has cosmetic and medical uses.
You might consider Microneedling if you are concerned about:
enlarged pores
Fine lines or wrinkles
Loose or crepey skin(thin and wrinkled) skin
Mild scars, especially those from acne or burns
Skin discoloration or uneven skin tone
Stretch marks
Alopecia areata (hair loss due to autoimmune disease)
Please note stretch marks can be drastically improved more so if they are new stretch marks. Microneedling will still show improvement will older marks also.
Microneedling should not be performed on anyone who is on.
Medication for Acne
Blood disorders or are on anticoagulants (drugs that prevent blood clots) warfarin
Cancer and are receiving chemotherapy or radiation
Frequent skin rashes contact dermatitis or cold sores if one is present at the time of appointment
What is the Risks of Microneedling?
Microneedling is a safe procedure but may cause some bruising, or skin infection this is why aftercare is important.
After the procedure you will be very red this tends to settle in 6 hours. It may feel sore and burn slightly.
The recovery is around 2 weeks in total for new Fresh skin to be revealed.
You may peel and be itchy in the healing process.
Treatments are normally every 3-4 weeks.
You will have a consultation before Microneedling just to discuss what you are looking to achieve, we will examine your skin, review your skin health and discuss the procedure. We will take photos of the area so you can compare your skin journey.
